I have not been here in a while. It seems as though all my entires have started out that way lately. Oh well. I am currently in rehearsal for "Ragtime" at NJPAC. We open in 9 days. I actually think we are ready for the most part. We shall see how it goes once we add costumes, lights, sound and computer images. We move into the theater today. Very exciting!!

My 4th of July was fine if relatively uneventful. I layed around for most of the day...my last day off until we open...then my parents got home around 3. I had to help them unpack and then Alex called so I went to her house for a little while. I ended up going to the fireworks in Maplewood with Alex, Amanda, Melissa, Julie and Brendan. After we all went back to Manda's where Brett and Abbey were there with the baby...seriously the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. We hung out there for a little while and then they were all going to a party but I had to go home to get up this morning for work/rehearsal...

So here I am at my desk with no task at hand...

Well I should be a good girl and get back to work...

I will attempt to update again soon.

Tuesday, April 18, 2006

Wow...I have not been here in FOREVER!!!! I am not even going to try an recap what happened since January 24 or whatever. Man, when I think of all that has happened in that time it almost scares me. The ups and downs have probab;y been some of the greatest of my life.

Well I am quickly approaching the end of my high school career. How scary is that??? Where did the last 4 years go? I had been waiting so long to be the lead in my high school musical and perform my senior spotlight...and it all came or has already past. I know that I have greater and bigger things ahead in college and beyond but I really feel like I am leaving my whole world behind come August. Perhaps I'm being dramatic. But I guess that is what change does to me...

I am still trying to decide where I am going next year. I did overnights at Drew and Mount Holyoke and I will be at Muhlenberg on Wednesday. We shall see.

Today was a pretty good day. I was home because today was a teacher in-service. Dad and I drove home from VT last night and I stayed up to late watching the Keira Knightly version of "Pride and Prejudice" (the Colin Firth version is better). I woke up semi-early this morning and drove to my voice lesson. Then I got an emergency call from Kyle so I went to the mall to help him pick out a tie for his prom. Then I came home and worked on my English project. When Dad got home we ordered pizza and then we attempted to watch "Our Town" but Dad fell asleep...as usual. And here I am.

I guess that will have to do. Sorry about the big gap in the entries. There was something wrong with my password on this site.

Later!

Monday, January 23, 2006

END OF THE FIRST SEMESTER!!!

Rehearsal continues to be a blast...even though we have to go in from 9-3 tomorrow which is a day off...

I had a really fun weekend. Spent Friday with Liss, Alex and Julie and we watched "Just Marrief"...lol...cute movie....Saturday I had a voice lesson and babysat for the Meisels who I love!! And today i had another voice lesson...coming down on the wire for these college auditions. Then I went to see Brokeback Mountain with a group of my school friends. The movie was excellent. Worth seeing for sure...and not only because it is probably going to win Best Picture.

Later!

Wednesday, January 11, 2006

Hey! I've been back to school for a week and a half and I still have another week and a half of the first semester. Rehearsal is in full swing and everbody is in freak out mode because the performences have been moved up a week!! So that on top of my midterms and projects and continuing to prepare for college auditions is making me crazy!!!!!!!

Last Friday I saw "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and it was hysterical. It was exactly the kind of show I needed to make me happy in this hecktic time. No understudies were there so that made it even better. Norbert leo Butz deserved every inch of that Tony. Seriousy he could have gotten it for that fight with the jerky alone!! Joh Lithgow was made for his role! He was so charming yet funny and he and Norbert play off each other perfectly (up there with Lane and Broderick or Chenoweth and Menzel!). I have loved Sherie Rene Scott since I saw her in Aida so it was gret to see her agian and she really holds her own between those 2 men. Also, lately i have become obesessed with The Last Five Years so seeing Norbert and Sherie on stage was encredible!! And alhtough Greg Jbara, Johanna Gleason(so happy i got to see her onstage...broadway ledgend!!) and Sara Gettlefinger have kind of thankless and someowhat random parts, they make the whole thing work. I just hope this show can hold its own after the original cast starts to leave next week.

Well, thats all for now!

Update Soon!
Tuesday, January 03, 2006

I haven't been here in a while!!

But even though this is a bit late...
I did this end of year recap last year and liked it and 2005 was great so here goes!!

January: Beginning of rehersals for Gypsy. I really need this weekend. I have been so sleep deprived the last two weeks that today I have hardly been able to keep my eyes open. Last weekend was an absolulte mess between the concert and driving and the open house and a voice lesson and homework. I just need a break and in the midst of all of this, i have to write 9 college applications. All this just needs to be over!!!!!!!! Well anyways, thats about it...surprisingly enough. I am hoping to see some of my friends tonight which is exciting becausse i have been unable to do something for the longest time. More soon.

Later!
Saturday, October 15, 2005

Sorry...Once again it has been a while...Recap of the plast few weeks...

The Importance of Being Earnest: Overall a great production!! After reading mixed reviews in just about every newspaper, I was shocked how much a I loved this production. I had to write a review for English class so here is some of it....

"Each of the actors were well cast in their particular roles. Steve Wilson was appropriately sarcastic and selfish as the lazy Algernon. The comfortable furniture that made up the set, his lavish costumes and his never ending supply of cucumber sandwiches and muffins only added to his charming performance. However, the moment that was most shocking in his performance was when he broke character to address a problem in the audience. Although, it was impressive how easily he could jump in and out of character. Gareth Saxe who played Jack did well but at times was too over-the-top for his usually composed character. While he was often nervous and snappy with Algernon, the interview scene with Lady Brcaknell seemed to be a bit off. Jane Altman who was physically an intersecting choice as Lady Bracknell because of her petite stature, however was just an intimidating then her “bigger” predassesors. In the scene where Bracknell interviews Jack to see if he is an appropriate match for her daughter Gwendolen, it is usually the tensest scene in the show however, I found that Saxe and Altman were simply going for laughs and I did not like that interpretation.

As the young women of the production, Caralyn Kozlowski and Elena Shaddow both gave very strong performances as Gwendolen and Cecily. They were both silly and giggly without being obnoxious or completely stereotypical. Also, each one of them finds a very specific character in two women that could easily be passed off as the same person. By far one of the best directed and acted scenes in the production was the scene where the two of them have tea together. Both actresses understood the importance of keeping their decorum even when the audience could tell they really wanted to be screaming at each other. In the minor role of Miss Prism and Dr. Chasuble, Susan Greenhill and Davis Hall gave good performances but were over shadowed by the rest of the cast.

What was most appropriate about this production was the depiction's of the two servants because they were played exactly in the manner that we discussed them in class. Richard Waddington who played Lane, made the opening of the show delightful as he was setting the table while disapprovingly listening to Algy play the piano. As Merriman, Brian Schilb gave the performance some of its best moments of physical comedy. However, the one small thing I was disappointed in was the fact that the director ignored the moment in the Third Act where Lady Bracknell can hear an aside. I was waiting for this moment and it did not happen. Besides a few small complaints, I completely enjoyed this production."

A Tale of Two Cities Reading: AMAZING!!! Yet another opportunity for me to chill with Broadway actors. Back for the last time were James Barbour, Jenny Powers, Nick Wyman, Alex Santoriello and Paul Castree. New Commers included, Cheyanne Jackson, J. Mark McVey, Mary Stout, Creig Bennet, Natalie Toro, Makenzie Mauzy and Diana Kaarina. it was amazing to be able to play hookie from school for two days to help out with programs and gift bags and be able to sit through 3 performences that was meant only for investors. But the best part by far is the time I get to hang out with the cast. Of course I had many a conversation with my lovely friend Jenny Powers about her upcomming work to the failure of her last show to my time at Northwestern which is her alma mater. Alex santoriello aka...my hero...seriously, i would be dead if it were not for this man...was sweet as usual. Gave me several more things to add to my list of Santoriello words of wisdom. I met and had a conversation with Diana Kaarina who I saw play Eponine in Les Mis and by far is the best one ever!!! She was so complementary of my help with the show and was so touched by my compliments of her performences in Les Mis and said I def looked like I could play Eponine in the future!!! Mary Stout is another one who was kind enough to acknowlege my presence and I had several nice conversations with her about her experiences in Jane Eyre and her current role as Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast. And of course James Barbour's performence was simply brilliant!!! HE IS GONNA WIN THE TONY AWARD!!! If he does'nt....its a crime!!! Anyway....it was so great and I have too many more stories to share...!!!

So that is the fun stuff... the rest of it was papers, SATs....thank god thats over...., the rain filled Spirit Week and tonight is homecomming and thank god it is because otherwise i would have to go to my sisters 13th bday bash of which i am so mad about....i never got a party....not 13, not 16 not anything!! Ok....well later!!!
